Keep Off the Couch After Work

After a long, hard day at the office, sometimes all you want to do is plop down on the couch and watch some television. You may think it gives your overworked brain a rest, but watching TV actually can make it work harder. Instead of turning on the tube, head outside for a short stroll. It’ll get your energy and focus levels up, as well as burn calories.

Do you exercise after a hard day’s work?

  • Yes, I work on  my balance (10 min), 10 each : squats, lunges, push-ups, situp, and I stretch (10 min).  Try to keep my routine going!   I also try to walk 3 + miles everyday.

Happy Fat Tuesday or Mardi Grass!

  • It depends on how long of a day I put in.  If it's 12 hours (like today) then by the time I get home I dont really feel like doing much at all. So, I just take a short walk with the dog.  If I only put in a 6 to 8 hour day then I will get the dog and go for a longer walk and maybe stop at the dog park. If it's early enough, I will go for a hike at one of the local mountain preserves.

  • No. I work a swing shift and normally get home at about 10:30pm, sometimes later. I actually do a lot of walking at work.

  • Sometimes, mainly in the spring and summer because the day are longer and it is nice outside.  The fall and winter time is hard to go for walk after coming home from work.  I have do some walking coming and going to work.
